Everything you need to know

The Sujuud mat is a premium prayer mat built for daily salah at home. It combines 15mm dual-density cushioning with a minimal, considered design, so it feels as good to kneel on as it does to leave out in a room.

The Sujuud mat is designed for Muslims who pray daily at home and want a mat comfortable enough for extended prayer, and refined enough to keep visible in their space rather than stored away between prayers. It also suits gift-buyers, thanks to its accessible price.

The Sujuud mat measures 1270 × 660 mm (approximately 50 × 26 inches) with a 15mm dual-density thickness — a generous footprint that gives the hands, knees, and forehead ample room to rest in natural alignment through every position of prayer.

The Sujuud mat pairs a soft-touch, tone-on-tone woven surface (Pile: 100% Polyester) with an odorless, high-density closed-cell core. It is precision engineered in China with clean tooling, hypoallergenic materials, and guaranteed free of chemical off-gassing out of the box.

Most traditional prayer mats are thin woven textiles with little padding, which can cause knee strain over extended prayer. Others use overly soft memory foam that compromises forehead stability during sujūd. The Sujuud mat provides 15mm dual-density cushioning: pressure relief under the knees paired with firm forehead resistance to meet Islamic prostration requirements.

Yes. The Sujuud mat is designed to be left out between prayers, not folded away out of sight. Its muted, earthy palette and minimal pattern language are meant to sit comfortably in a modern home, so it becomes something you're proud to display.

The Sujuud mat is offered in three designs, with one of them available in two colorways, for four variants in total. Each design uses fine, restrained line-art or geometric motifs rather than busy ornamentation, so the design guides prayer without distracting from it. Furthermore, Sujuud mats contain no mirrored patterns that could form accidental face shapes, and never place sacred text or names underfoot.

The Sujuud mat features engineered 15mm dual-density cushioning. Classical scholarly rulings (e.g., Hanafi guidance on prayer mats) emphasize that prayer on cushioned surfaces is valid as long as the forehead presses until firmness is felt. Sujuud provides firm stability under the forehead while delivering deep, joint-relieving cushioning under the knees.

The Sujuud mat is not machine washable. Because the high-density cushioned core traps moisture and can be damaged by machine agitation, simply spot clean with a damp cloth and mild, unscented soap, then let it air dry flat. Full cleaning and storage guidance is covered in the Sujuud care guide.

The Sujuud mat is $45, in every design. Prices are in US dollars, and there's no design-specific pricing — what's on the product page is what you pay.

It's one of the most popular reasons people choose Sujuud — whether for a wedding, Eid, Ramadan, a new Muslim (revert), or a thoughtful gift from a friend. With universal sizing, restrained aesthetic designs that fit any modern home, and gift packaging, it's an elevated essential anyone praying daily will cherish.

Sujuud (سجود) is the Arabic word for prostration, the position in prayer where the forehead touches the ground. It is considered the closest a person comes to God in prayer, and it's the moment the brand is named for and designed around.
